Outdoor Date Day!

Whoever thinks of city life as overcrowded rows of grey buildings has never seen it through my eyes! Here I'd like to share with you a taste of the secret world of New York City.

The Highlines!

Situated in the middle of NYC, this abandoned subway track has been gloriously re-purposed into an elevated park that offers not only a sun kissed place to lounge but also a haven for artists, revelers and strollers alike.

Windows have been built into the walls along the way with amphitheater style seating for those who enjoy watching the action of city life push on. This is such an wonderfully unique feature! We are so often steadfast in our belief that the hectic existence of urban life is an ugly one that we miss the beauty of it all. Remove yourself for just a moment and you begin to see... the vibrant colors that race by... the organization and teamwork that goes into keeping this world turning... the awesomeness that all these different people have found a way to exist together.

And sometimes you catch great moments like this! Two ill prepared musicians getting a ticket for selling CDs without a permit. They can't even be troubled to uncross their legs or put their gourmet chips down!

I also enjoyed catching them later on admiring these guys - who permit in hand got play the day away.

Lounge chairs built onto the tracks!

AND WE STUMBLED ON A STREET FAIR!! Man, do I love street fairs!

I think Matt's newest tattoo sums all this up just right - Live Life, my friends!
